Beach Bling Wedding with a Bonus – Pink!

So before I get into the details on what has to be one of the most beautiful reception set -up I’ve seen (yes, it involves the color PINK!), here a little back story.

Let’s go back to October 2010, where as the Red Hot Kitchen I was doing my “last wedding” cake ever.  Well, like my mother has always told me be careful of using the words “ever” and “never”.

Fast forward to present day 2014, we moved to the beach and are about to open the Sweet IRB storefront and last wedding cake “ever” has become May 17, September 6th and October 4th!  Who knows, maybe it will become a trend?

Yesterday’s cake was such a delight, I mean – Beach, Bling and PINK!  Here at the beach texture is in, so I was so excited to be able to do a textured butter-cream to represent waves.   The cake layers were made up of a chocolate hazelnut bottom, sour cream almond top and then filled with a raspberry filling/american butter-cream.   Accompanying the cake, was over 2 lbs of white chocolate sea shells (check out Decorate the Cake for fabulous molds).  Topping off the design, gram cracker crumbs for the “sand” effect.

My favorite moment of the day?  When I opened the door to the banquet room and saw all the PINK!  What a beautiful set up from the flowers, the chair bows, the favors, place cards and just everything.  Perfectly Pink!  I was so happy with how it all worked together, the cake was a perfect match!  Check out a few of the pictures of the reception room:
